      Your New Role

      The VP plays a key role within Business Affairs of the WB Film Group, consisting of Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema and DC Studios, with oversight over key departments as well as daily interaction with all levels of management and filmmakers. Responsible for the preparation, review and/or approval of various confidential reports, all contractual obligations and payments, all above-the-line summaries for production budgeting purposes and approval of all related theatrical agreements. Track company’s underlying rights for all theatrical projects.

      Your Role Accountabilities

      • Oversees all facets of Theatrical Business Affairs Administration, Central Files, Casting Administration, Credit & Title Administration and Theatrical Term Producers. Leads and supervises daily activities of staff. Provides guidance and support to other related departments and teams.

      • Collaborates with other departments and colleagues to ensure practices, procedures, systems and technology align with new company and market-driven initiatives.

      • Responsible for handling the review and tracking of theatrical property options. This includes the review of all deals and agreements to ensure all dates are calendared and appropriate parties are notified. Ensures timely and accurate action is taken and implemented within the designed period of time to preserve the company’s rights.

      • Reviews and approves all theatrical agreements. Discusses deal points with attorneys to ensure details are consistent with the approved deal. Prepares and approves contractual payments for WB Film Group projects as well as any Pictures being distributed by the WB Film Group.

      • Oversees theatrical term deals. Interfaces on a daily basis with individual term producers, their staff, business managers and attorneys to carry out terms of contract. Reviews and tracks monthly overhead costs and approves expenses for term producer and staff.

      • Maintains and manages daily interactions with producers, writers, directors, agents and outside attorneys on Pictures in development, pre-production and production.

      • Reviews and approves wire payments for release to agents and attorneys, above-the-line summaries for production budgeting purposes as well as all expense reimbursement requests. Works with Creative Executives on all travel for writers, producers, directors and talent for theatrical projects in development and pre-production. Approves necessary expenses.

      • Oversees the coordination of all script commencement and delivery approvals with Creative Executives and Story Department.

      • Oversees and approves all monthly reports provided to other internal and external departments , including various reports submitted to DGA and WGA.

      • Reviews and approves department budget expenditures and the coordination of all business related office and equipment requests.

      Qualifications and Experience

      • BA/BS or equivalent related work experience required

      • 10+ years in Business Affairs.

      • Strong leadership skills and experience managing staff

      • Prior experience in the entertainment field, preferably in Business Affairs or Legal area.

      • Prior experience leading a team

      • Must have ability to supervise and coordinate work of staff on a daily basis and supervising daily workload and matters

      • Must be a self-starter with ability to independently manage workload, team and decisions

      • Must have ability to understand and interpret contracts and deal memos

      • Must have ability to communicate effectively and interact well with other all levels executives and creative clients

      • Must have technological skills with an eye towards future integration
